So you’re engaged!
Which is so exciting, and maybe even a little stressful as you begin to dip your toes into planning your ceremony. There are so many different ways to get married, there is not a “right” or “wrong” way to do it. Here’s a quick hot take on the pros and cons of both.
Pros of the big wedding:
- You can invite everyone you want to
- All of your friends and family will add to the experience
- Much more of a party feel at the reception
- Your friends and family will feel special and included
Cons of a big wedding
- More expensive
- More centered around the comfort of your guests
- More intensive planning
- The energy of your friends and family could add to the stress of the day
- Can be less environmentally friendly
And of course these pros and cons are all broad stereotypes and generalizations. Not every big wedding includes these cons. Remember, you can make it how you want it to be.
Pros of an elopement:
- Generally more affordable
- More centered on the couple and their wants
- More intimate
- More environmentally friendly
Cons of an elopement:
- Friends and family may feel excluded
- Less of a “party” feel
